The Lead Line Cook is a vital team member responsible for executing the daily menu with precision and consistent quality. Working in a kitchen that serves our bustling café, you will play a key role in upholding our commitment to excellence, efficiency, and hospitality. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated craftsperson who takes pride in their station and their finished product.
Duties
Culinary Execution & Quality:
Execute all café recipes accurately and consistently, ensuring every dish meets our high standards for presentation, portioning, and taste.
Manage and expertly run Griddle, Sandwich, and Salad Prep/Plating during service hours, ensuring fast, accurate, and high-quality output.
Collaborate with the Lead Baker and Kitchen Manager on food prep needs during down time.
Operational Excellence:
Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked station at all times; set up and break down the station efficiently before and after service. (and in between rushes!)
Assist with large-batch prep work (e.g., vegetable breakdown, dough mixing) as assigned, ensuring ingredients are stored and labeled correctly.
Manage inventory and communicate ingredient shortages to the Lead Baker or Kitchen Manager proactively.
Hospitality & Teamwork:
Embody our Hospitality-Driven Mindset by maintaining a proactive, positive, and professional attitude toward all colleagues and leaders.
Support a healthy BOH environment by communicating clearly and assisting other stations as needed to manage flow and overcome challenges.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards (HACCP/ServSafe) in the preparation and handling of all food products and equipment.
Skills
A successful Line Cookwill combine technical skill with a strong sense of team responsibility:
Technical Skill: Proven experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a high-volume café, restaurant, or scratch kitchen environment.
Passion for Consistency: Deep appreciation for detail and the ability to execute recipes flawlessly, prioritizing quality over speed without sacrificing efficiency.
Expert Organization: Exceptional ability to maintain a highly organized and efficient workspace under pressure.

The Barista / Agent of Hospitality is the welcoming presence at The Flower Kitchen. This position is responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, serving our house-made baked goods, and ensuring every customer interaction is infused with our commitment to hospitality. This role goes beyond coffee—it’s about creating a warm, memorable experience that connects the customer to all aspects of our cafe.
Key Responsibilities:
Exceptional Guest Experience:
Proactively greet and engage every guest with genuine warmth and professionalism, embodying The Flower Kitchen's hospitality-driven culture.
Accurately take and process orders (food, coffee, and grab-and-go items), offering informed suggestions and answering menu questions knowledgeably.
Maintain the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness in the café seating area, espresso bar, and merchandise displays.
Beverage & Product Mastery:
Master the preparation of all espresso drinks, craft coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to consistently high standards of quality and presentation.
Serve baked goods and brunch items efficiently and attractively, ensuring presentation standards are met.
Educate guests on coffee origins, seasonal offerings, and the quality of our in-house products.
Operational Excellence:
Efficiently manage cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and order flow during high-volume periods.
Maintain optimal stock levels of retail beverages, café supplies, and merchandise, communicating inventory needs to the manager.
Collaborate with the Back-of-House (BOH) team to ensure seamless communication regarding food availability and special requests.
Brand & Community Connection:
Act as an ambassador for the entire business, enthusiastically informing customers about our floral arrangements, subscriptions, and upcoming events/workshops.
What You Bring:
The ideal candidate blends technical skill with enthusiastic service:
Experience: Minimum of [1 year] experience in a customer-facing, high volume cafe serving specialty coffee.
Technical Barista Skill: Proficiency in espresso machine operation, milk texturing, and latte art is strongly preferred.
Hospitality Mindset: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to service and a commitment to fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere for team members and guests alike.
Effective Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to listen empathetically and resolve minor issues professionally.
Reliability & Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to maintain consistency and speed under pressure.
Job Type: Full time - approximately 30-34 hours & Part-time (15-20 hours)
